I SAW A CHILD ON THE SCHOOL BUS HITTING THE BACK WINDOW AND YELLING FOR HELP
A yellow school bus passed me, and in the back window a little girl pounded on the glass, terrified. I chased the bus, forced it to stop, and rushed inside.
At the back, she was crying—her wrists bound with a zip tie. She whispered that older kids had tied her up and threatened her brother while one filmed it as a prank.
I called 911. Police arrived, the bullies were punished, and her parents were called.
As she left safely with her mom, the girl turned back and smiled.
Sometimes, making a scene saves a child.
