STAY AWAY FROM THIS AREA

Recent online posts claiming that police across the United States are warning people to “stay away from this area” have caused confusion. In reality, these alerts usually apply only to specific local situations. For example, police in Revere, Massachusetts recently advised residents to remain alert near a local train station after several reported assaults in the area. The warning was limited to that neighborhood and was not a nationwide alert.

In a separate case, the United States Department of State issued a safety notice for Americans in parts of Mexico, advising them to shelter indoors due to cartel-related violence. That advisory also applied only to certain regions outside the U.S.

Officials emphasize that such alerts are localized safety measures, not nationwide emergencies. 🚨
